Middle School and High School camps have an ONLINE option as well. They are identical in content with the primary difference being that they are done entirely online.**

**ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SERVICES AND DAY CAMPS **

This full semester camp meets twice weekly for mid-elementary students (2nd - 4th) and is dedicated to enhancing reading skills such as decoding, using context clues, fluency, and reading comprehension skills.

**PUPPY DOG MATH DAY CAMP $260**

*Puppy Dog Math, very similar to Mad Dog Math, teaches students the math facts which are the foundation for strong math literacy and enable students to go onto higher-level math fact problems. This 16-hour class meets once a week on Thursdays virtually or at our learning center in Temecula. The class is geared toward TK and Kindergartners. The students rotate amongst three stations. The class is is a ton of fun and is designed for students in grades 1-5. The tuition also includes access to the Mad Dog Math online portal for additional practice as well as a set of Mad Dog Math custom flashcards. ***MATH LEVEL 5 DAY CAMP $500***Fifth-grade math fundamentals camp. This full semester camp meets twice weekly for one hour. Homework and assessments will be given. We use Khan Academy as the primary curriculum. This camp covers comprehensive fifth-grade math standards and concepts from word problems, add/subtract/multiply/divide whole numbers/decimals/fractions/mixed numbers, equivalent fractions, convert between fractions/decimals/percents, estimation, variables/expressions/equations, geometry and measurement, probability, etc.*

**Math - 6, 7, and 8th Grade ***Course Descriptions: Each Math camp for Middle school is for building, solidifying, and finally mastering the concepts as outlined for that grade level via the California Standards. *

**MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE DAY CAMPS $550**

**EARTH SCIENCE**** - 6th Grade (or high 5th graders)**

Earth Science is a branch of science dealing with the physical and chemical constitution of the Earth and its atmosphere. It includes all fields of natural science related to the planet Earth. In this 6th grade, Earth Science class students will learn about the fundamentals of geology, oceanography, meteorology, and astronomy. Students will also learn how scientists do research in these fields to discover past and future events.

**LIFE SCIENCE**** - 7th Grade (or high 6th graders)**

This course will introduce middle school students to the discipline of Life Science. We will investigate the various topics that are important in understanding the fundamentals of Biology. It will be a general introduction to what differentiates living from non-living organisms, plants vs. animals from a cellular level up to the final whole organism. We will delve into some topics such as biomes, biodiversity, adaptability, and inheritance to comprehend how animals and plants interrelate and compete for the success of their existence. This course will conclude the year with the study of the Human Body and we will be studying anatomy and learn how the body functions. We will also cover the benefits of making healthy choices to live a healthy lifestyle. The material will be disseminated primarily in an interactive lecture format, and for reinforcement, there will be homework assignments and videos to better visualize the fascinating study of life! **PHYSICAL SCIENCE****- 8th Grade (or high 7th graders)**

This class is a standard and laboratory-based program. Students spend approximately forty percent (40%) of their class time on hands-on activities. Introductory principles of physical science and astronomy will be explored in detail, with some related topics from Earth and life sciences included. Constructivist methods of teaching are employed to ensure the best possible comprehension and retention of science concepts. Science activities will be based on the California Science Standards as delineated in the California Science Framework and will utilize the skills and techniques outlined in the Investigation and Experimentation Strand of the Content Standards.

This course is designed to teach students both a basic factual chronology of American history, but also how to think like historians in analyzing events of the past through documents and other primary sources. The course stresses Socratic discussion, an examination of causes and effects, bias, credibility, interpretation, opinions, facts, and historical truth. It emphasizes the American ideas of liberty, individual rights, and equality. Through this lens students will come to appreciate with gratitude the “blessings of liberty” they enjoy today while acknowledging the events, sacrifices, and failures of the American story.

This year students will expand their understanding of history by studying the people and events that ushered in the dawn of the major Western and non-Western ancient civilizations. Geography is of special significance in the development of the human story. Continued emphasis is placed on the everyday lives, problems, and accomplishments of people, their role in developing social, economic, and political structures, as well as in establishing and spreading ideas that helped transform the world forever.

Each course is designed to increase the literacy and writing ability of students by focusing on the areas of reading, writing, listening, speaking, and language conventions, using the Common Core State Standards for 6th grade. Reading strategies and comprehension skills will be developed through the reading and analysis of fiction, non-fiction, short stories, and poetry. Writing will focus on narrative, informational, argumentative, and research-based writing.

Please note: Students will also learn and develop technology skills using the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) student standards through the use of Google Applications (Drive, Documents, Slides, etc…) integrated throughout the course.

**HIGH SCHOOL SERVICES AND DAY CAMPS**

**HIGH SCHOOL MATH SUPPORT DAY CAMP $300***This full semester camp meets weekly aids students to achieve stronger understanding as well as the application of the principles of PreAlgebra, Integrated Math I, Algebra, Geometry. The class meets weekly and goes hand in hand with Integrated Math I and II. What sets this class apart from other math classes is that it offers a tutorial component. The instructor reserve part of the latter half of the class to explaining means and methods for solutions to students' math homework problems.*

*HIGH** **SCHOOL ALGEBRA DAY CAMP $600*

*This full semester camp meets twice weekly for one hour and 15 minutes for each class. The course introduces the student to the basic structure of Algebra through the use and application of real numbers, inequalities, factoring, polynomials, linear and quadratic equations, and graphs. *

*HIGH SCHOOL GEOMETRY DAY CAMP $600*

This full semester camp meets twice weekly for one hour and 15 minutes for each class. This course is designed to emphasize the study of the properties and applications of common geometric figures in two and three dimensions. It includes the study of transformations and right triangle trigonometry. It also emphasizes writing proofs to solve (prove) properties of geometric figures.

*PRECALCULUS/TRIGONOMETRY DAY CAMP $600*

This full semester camp meets twice weekly for one hour and 15 minutes for each class. It is a course that combines reviews of Algebra, Geometry, and functions into a preparatory course for Calculus. The course focuses on the mastery of critical skills and exposure to new skills necessary for success in subsequent math courses.

*CALCULUS DAY CAMP $600*

This full semester camp meets twice weekly for one hour and 15 minutes for each class. It is designed to give students an overview of Calculus topics such as limits and continuity, derivatives, anti-derivatives, integrals, and differential equations.

**HIGH SCHOOL BIOLOGY DAY CAMP $550**

*This full semester camp meets twice weekly during the semester. It includes an introduction to the scientific method, cytology, genetics, botany, zoology, ecology, taxonomy, chemistry, and microbiology. Course work, lab work, and examinations will prepare students for future science courses. *

**HIGH SCHOOL CHEMISTRY DAY CAMP $550**

****This full semester camp meets twice weekly during the semester It includes an introduction to the study of the structure and composition of matter that makes up living things and their environment. Furthermore, it deals with the study of the changes of matter and the mechanisms by which changes occur. This class cover topics such as matter, chemical reactions, solutions, and nuclear chemistry.

**HIGH SCHOOL PHYSICS DAY CAMP $550**

*This full semester camp meets twice weekly during the semester Physics is the study of the basic principles that govern the physical world around us. In this class, we'll start by looking at motion itself. Then, we'll learn about forces, momentum, energy, and other concepts based mainly on the laws established by Newton. *

*SPANISH ONLINE $320*

*This full semester virtual class meets once a week with a live instructor on Wednesday mornings. The instructor begins with the basics of conversational Spanish and helps develop vocabulary and fluency. *
